Holiday Mindfulness
The holidays can be a hectic time. This makes it even more critical to practice mindfulness to keep us grounded, appreciative, and present. I am sharing some of my favorite mindfulness practices with a holiday season spin! Discover the one (or a few) that speak to you and try them out this holiday season!
Gratitude Jar: Throughout the season, write down things you're grateful for on colorful slips of paper and place them in a jar. Read them on New Year's Eve.
Holiday Art: Engage in creative activities like holiday-themed crafts, painting, or making homemade decorations mindfully.
Music Meditation: Listen to holiday music with your full focus. Pay attention to the lyrics and melodies.
Mindful Baking: While baking holiday treats, savor the smells, textures, and tastes of the ingredients.
Mindful Gift Wrapping: Wrap presents with care and intention, focusing on the joy you share with each gift.
Random Acts of Kindness: Perform small acts of kindness without expecting anything in return.
Candle Gazing: Light a candle, watch the flame, and meditate on the warmth and light it symbolizes.
Digital Detox Day: Dedicate a day to disconnecting from screens and reconnecting with real-life experiences.
Seasonal Aromatherapy: Use essential oils like cinnamon, pine, or peppermint to create a calming and festive atmosphere.
Kindness Calendar: Create a calendar with daily acts of kindness to spread joy throughout the season.
Ornament Meditation: Hang ornaments on the tree individually, thinking of a positive intention for each.
Book of Reflection: Keep a journal to jot down thoughts, reflections, and special moments during the holiday season.
Intention Setting: Set mindful intentions for the new year, reflecting on personal growth and goals.
