Are you in the blue zone?
What does it mean to be in the blue zone? The blue zone project is a Southwest Florida initiative to help companies, schools, restaurants, and other organizations in the community make healthier choices. As part of their well-being improvement initiative, this project helps the community make small changes that can contribute to huge benefits for everyone.
For many companies and organizations participating in this program (or any wellbeing program), their benefits can include lowered healthcare costs, improved productivity, and even a better quality of life for them and their employees.
So how are they accomplishing this? They call it the Power 9, which are focus areas designed to help people live longer and better lives. These areas include everything from movement, to relationships, to support-centric ideals, but the area that I focus with my clients on most is the concept of downshifting. The idea here is to reverse the negative effects that stress can have on your mind and body.
I work with my corporate clients to create mindfulness in the workplace that reduces employee stress and improves overall happiness. Some methods that many companies choose to employ are things like scheduled focus time, meditation, prioritization exercises, time management best practices, improving communication, introducing very important pauses, and so much more!
With everything that has plagued Florida in recent weeks, it is more important than ever that we pay attention to our wellbeing, and that organizations support their employees in this way.
Knowing that well-being is truly a continuous journey rather than a destination, I have created solutions to help with mindfulness in the workplace, stress management, and other wellness focused programs for companies committed to evolving in these areas. Contact me today to see how I can help your organization shine as one of the happiest and healthiest places to live, work and play.
